Recognized Regionally for Effective Implementation of Nurse Burnout Prevention Strategies<\/h3>\n

The Spine Hospital of Louisiana at The NeuroMedical Center is proud to announce it is the recipient of a LAMMICO<\/a> Patient Safety Award and Grant. The Spine Hospital was awarded $2000 grant from the region\u2019s largest medical professional liability insurance carrier for its effective implementation of various strategies to prevent or mitigate the effects of nurse burnout.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>

Studies have shown that as many as 30 to 60 percent of healthcare providers meet the criteria for burnout. The characteristics of burnout include emotional exhaustion, cynicism, and a low sense of personal accomplishment. Burnout contributes to poor quality of life for healthcare professionals. In addition, quality of care and patient safety can be negatively impacted by stress and burnout.<\/p>\n
