The award recognizes top-performing health care organizations that have consistently achieved the 95<sup>th<\/sup> percentile or above of performance in Patient Experience. This is the 6<sup>th<\/sup> year in a row (2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021) and 7<sup>th<\/sup> time in the organization\u2019s 16-year history (2014) that The Spine Hospital\u2019s patient satisfaction scores have ranked in the <strong>TOP 5% NATIONALLY<\/strong> for medical practices.<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p>The Guardian of Excellence Award is a nationally-recognized symbol of achievement in healthcare, and is given out based on Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (HCAHPS) scores, a federal survey administered to a random sample of adult patients after discharge. The survey contains a series of questions about critical aspects of a patients\u2019 hospital experiences \u00a0(communication with nurses and doctors, the responsiveness of hospital staff, the cleanliness and quietness of the hospital environment, pain management, communication about medicines, discharge information, overall rating of hospital, and would they recommend the hospital.) The Spine Hospital of Louisiana was <strong>one of only 270 hospitals nationwide<\/strong> to achieve the 95<sup>th<\/sup> percentile in all survey categories over a 12-month period. The Spine Hospital of Louisiana is <strong>one of 4 hospitals in Baton Rouge, and one of 16 in Louisiana<\/strong> to receive the Guardian of Excellence Award in 2021.<\/p><p>\u201cPress Ganey is honored to recognize The Spine Hospital of Louisiana as one of the nation\u2019s leaders in patient experience\u201d said Patrick T.
